So the icon theme that I’ve been working on –dubbed “Moka”– while no where near complete, I felt had enough icons in it to justify public availability (as a beta-esque thing). Should one want to use them, I’ve created a Launchpad PPA with daily releases of it, which can be added as follows:
sudo add-apt-repository -y ppa:snwh/moka-icon-theme-daily sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install moka-icon-theme
From there you can change your icon theme, either using a program like Unity Tweak Tool, GNOME Tweak Tool, etc. or from the command line:
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface icon-theme "Moka"
If you find any bugs or issues with Moka, or if you have a question or request, you can visit the Launchpad page. However the theme is very much a work-in-progress, as you can see:
So what I’m saying is if you use the daily PPA always expect changes.
My philosophy regarding this project is that it is to be iterative (hence making it a daily build sort of thing) –things can always be improved. If I find something minute to change in an icon or if I scrap a bunch or if I decide to change all of them, I’ll do just that. For example, if all of a sudden the folders are green (which they’ll never be) don’t be shocked. ;)
